Porter Fairbourne.
Product Manager, Builder, and Operator. Based in Draper, Utah. I care about clear thinking, sharp products, and the parts of building that don't show up on roadmaps.

What I do
I lead product at Ember, an AI-native PIM platform automating SKU onboarding and chargeback prevention for industrial supply chains. The short version: distributors and manufacturers have product data scattered across spreadsheets, supplier portals, and customer-specific formats. We turn that mess into clean, customer-ready data — fast.
I’ve spent most of my career at the intersection of product, sales, and operations — usually somewhere small enough that the lines between those don’t matter.
How I work
I think the best PMs are obsessed with the customer’s job and ruthless about scope. I write a lot — PRDs, decision memos, internal updates — because writing is how I figure out whether I actually understand something. I prefer talking to five users over reading a deck about them.
I’m allergic to process for its own sake. If a tool, ritual, or doc isn’t earning its keep, I’ll cut it. The same goes for code in my side projects.
What I care about
- Products that respect the user’s time.
- Teams where everyone can write a clear paragraph.
- Tools that compound — agents, automations, the stack you build once and use forever.
- Operators who can hold both the spreadsheet and the strategy.
Outside of work
More to come.
